Edwin Jack Bell, age 83, beloved husband of Nina, nee Schwartz for 61 wonderfully amazing years: cherished father of Denise (Bryan) Thomas and Miriam Pompe: proud and loving Zadie of Seth (Desiree) Pompe, Harrison Thomas and Devin Thomas and great grandfather of Sevannah and Jaxsen Pompe: dearest brother of Marilyn Doane: dear uncle, great uncle and friend of many. Edwin had two graduate degrees, one in Political Science and one in Government Administration, He served loyally for 35 years as an administrator in the Chicago City Council and in the mayor’s office, serving five mayors with pride. He was a mentor to many and a professor at UIC and at Harper College. He will be missed by all. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Edwin’s healthcare professionals and to Sympony of Evanston who treated him with loving kindness. Chapel service Tuesday 12:15 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Rd., Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park.
